TheArc of Opportunity in North Central Mass. announced the commencement of its auction committee meetings for the 2024 Annual CharityAuction, to be held on Friday, Oct. 11, at Great Wolf Lodge, 150 Great Wolf Drive.
“The first meeting took place on June 11, with special attendance from Myles Philips-Wilcox, Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Sam Squailia who honored our long-time volunteers with citations,” said Marites MacLean, Development Director, at TheArc of Opportunity.
Rick Clouthier and Joan Driscoll, who have been volunteering since the first auction 35 years ago, were recognized for their unwavering commitment. Kenneth Lavoie was honored for 25 years of service, Judy Russell for 12 years, and Kat Deal for three years.
“Their dedication has been instrumental in the success of our past events,” MacLean added. In addition, the committee is excited to welcome new members — retired staff at TheArc, RheaAnderson and Elaine LeBlanc, case manager for Individualized In-home Support at TheArc.
“Their fresh perspectives and expertise will undoubtedly enrich the team,” MacLean said. As the committee prepares for another successful auction, they are seeking more volunteers to join — particularly to assist on the day of the event. “Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the event runs smoothly, and we invite community members to lend their support,” said MacLean.
