Rachel, one of our newest Person Centered Plan Managers, is a motivated team player who exemplifies so many of The Way of the Arc Fundamentals. In February, the Community Based Day and Employment Supports program (CBDES) was faced with several key staff members needing to be out. Without being asked, Rachel was there for her team in every way possible - “Think Team First.” She stepped into other roles to help the team be successful, taking on many additional daily responsibilities, attending meetings as needed, and contacting and coordinating with families to support our individuals.
Rachel “Leads by Example,” influencing others with her strong work ethic and her ability to go above and beyond to make things happen. She truly hit the ground running and “Made Quality Personal” in her Person Centered Plan Manager role. She has developed new systems and procedures that have helped with the Individual Support Plan flow process and training records for the CBDES program staff.
Rachel does all this extraordinary work every day so that she can support the individuals on her caseload in the best way possible. She has developed a unique curriculum for her group that enhances their daily schedule and has brought a sense of calm and leadership to her group that the clients have come to depend upon. Rachel has developed a strong team of staff to support her caseload and she is continuously putting the needs of her clients first- “Do what’s right by the clients.”
I am excited about seeing what future work and leadership Rachel will bring to the individuals she supports, to the CBDES program, and to The Arc of Opportunity.
