The Arc's Autumn Provider Dinner

In late fall, The Division of Adult Foster Care and Shared Homes hosted its annual autumn provider dinner at City Hall in Leominster. The Arc invited home care providers and the individual(s) they support to celebrate the truly important work providers do every day. Some providers are family members caring for a loved one at home; others have opened their homes to someone who has now become a part of their family. The Arc was happy to see some new faces and reminisce with those we have known for many years.

The evening began with a delicious buffet, served by the staff of the program. Dinner was accompanied by a variety of music and quality time to connect with others. After dinner, The Arc's President and CEO Mary Heafy spoke to the group about advocacy and our legislature. Followed was a presentation on the value of handwashing and how germs can be spread during this cold and flu season by the talented group of interns from Fitchburg State University. Finally, everyone enjoyed a raffle, where many of our providers and individuals entered to win a variety of items, including a Red Sox World Series t-shirt. The Division of AFC and Shared Homes is grateful to all of our home care providers for their tireless efforts on behalf of the individuals we support. See you all again in the spring!
