May Employee of the Month

Jimmy Rodriquez was nominated by two staff people as May employee of the month.  Below are the two nominations:

Nomination by Michelle Lambert:  As much as I would love to nominate every staff who works in our day hab program, I do have to pick just one. Since I began running men’s group in day hab, I have gotten to work alongside Jimmy and have come to know him fairly well. Recently we started to have men’s group outside the walls of The Arc, which has been a great opportunity to socialize within the community. It has been on these outings that I began to notice how exceptionally well Jimmy does in his role within this program. He was very assertive and organized in helping the individuals place their food order, making sure they each had enough money and that their overall needs were met throughout the entire trip. What I think is worth noting however, is Jimmy’s repoire and interactions with the individuals themselves. His playful yet respectful joking immediately puts a smile on the faces of not only the men in our group, but with everyone he supports within this program. You can just tell that Jimmy’s approach and dialogue he has with the individuals we support is genuine, almost as if you can imagine him talking to a friend he bumped into at the grocery store. Being one of the few male staff we have here in the program, Jimmy is a great role model for a lot of the younger individuals we support and you can tell they look up to him in this way. Jimmy comes into work and gives 100% every day and you can see that he truly enjoys working with the individuals we support, which is something you can’t teach in an employee training. I wanted to take this time to recognize all of his hard work and commitment here at The Arc. Not to mention his son has the cutest head of curls ever!

Nomination Jim Casperson:  James is an integral member of the weekend recreation team which, like EVERYTHING else, is much more involved than anyone who hasn’t BEEN involved is aware.

From coordinating vans and transportation, including who might best not be seated with whom, to promoting decision-making and helping with the consequences of same, to assisting individuals with ADL AND creative endeavors, and supporting positive community behaviors, James’ actions epitomize all of the objectives of the recreation program.

He is a pleasure to work with and I have received great positive comments from providers and family members.  The mutual respect between him and our people is natural and exemplary.

I happily recommend him for recognition.
