Jim began his Human Service career in 1977 with the Job Placement Project, a federal demonstration contract. He came to the North Central Mass Friends in 1979 and has been with The Arc and Matson agencies since then. He is currently a Program Director with the Family Support/Recreation Department of The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts.
Developmental Disabilities (DD), first defined in 1975 federal legislation now known as “The DD Act”, are a group of lifelong conditions that emerge during the developmental period and result in some level of functional limitation in learning, language, communication, cognition, behavior, socialization, or mobility.
