When I think of a staff person who can get it done, whatever “it” is, I think of Josiah, who delivers legendary service every day. Over the years of my tenure here at The Arc, Josiah has had several roles. Lately, his role is of Community Health Worker in the AFC Program. Even more lately, with staff changes, Josiah has taken on a caseload that is varied and very active. As someone who clearly thinks team first Josiah jumped in and got it done.
When an individual on his caseload required emergency psychiatric services Josiah’s first thought was of the dignity and needs of the individual. Josiah has the ability to be here now and see what needs to be done. If the solution requires him to take ownership, he easily makes quality personal, even driving not only the individual to the hospital but also following up with a second trip to deliver clothing.
Josiah is always positive and is a strong advocate for doing what is right by the client. You also need to know he is obsessive about organization; you should see his spreadsheets!
For these reasons and many more, I nominate Josiah Richards to be The Way of The Arc Champion!
