The Way of The Arc Champion for November 2019 is The Facilities Team!

Think team first. Do what’s right by the client. Do it right the first time.

New England weather can be a challenge, to say the least. Vista M. Kelly is credited with saying “Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together”. Our facilities team understands that concept better than most, as it is the reason that they are out plowing at 3 AM or salting driveways on a holiday. Being at the ready 24/7 for events such as the recent winter storm that delivered over 20 inches of snow requires a level of dedication that is uncommon in many professions. Each of the members of the facilities team has demonstrated themselves to be invaluable resources, and The Arc would not be the same without them.

For a majority of staff, the end of the workday and weekends are just that. It's time to go home, spend time with family, and recharge. That is not always the case for the facilities team. Being on-call means nights, weekends, and holidays may suddenly become workdays. This year, they have unfortunately become workdays too often, as issues that require their expert attention have seemed to pop up at the most inconvenient times. They continue on without complaint and with a positive attitude, ensuring that the residential and main street locations remain clean, safe, and in working order.

As we are off to yet another unpredictable winter season, we have already seen the Facilities Team in action clearing the way for both staff and individuals alike. I’d like to recognize the Facilities Team as The Way of The Arc Champions for their dedication to service excellence and their commitment to living out The Way of The Arc Fundamentals each and every day.
