Josh took on the Program Director role in CBDES about one year ago. It is a challenging role, to say the least, but more recently Josh has shown his resilience and ability to truly take ownership of this position.
Josh has gotten clear on expectations and worked to put systems in motion for staff coverage, consistency, and training. He does so more seamlessly and independently. He has led by example in his hands-on approach to training new staff, jumping into ratio, and coaching new case managers. In the last couple of months, it has become clear that Josh also understands and executes the true vision and spirit of a community-based program that focuses on meaningful connections within the community and ultimately serves as a pathway to employment. Following a CBDES conference, he has collaborated with our partners on acquiring new volunteer opportunities such as an Alpaca farm, the Ashby library, and Tower Hill Botanical Gardens. He is committed to supporting staff to be successful in their roles and the value of quality within the program.
