Our Trip To Friendly Farm

In the spirit of our Fundamental #31 to keep things fun, a group from our Community Based Day and Employment Supports (CBDES) program recently visited The Friendly Farm in Dublin, NH for a fun and educational experience.

Upon arrival, the group had lunch at the picnic tables with the chickens underfoot and the sounds of happy animals coming from every direction. After lunch, our group made fast friends with the goats thanks to some bags of feed and their adventurous spirits. We couldn’t feed them fast enough and the scene was nothing short of hysterical! Everyone had a fantastic time learning about and enjoying the up close and personal encounter with the many animals that live there.

Bruce Fox, the owner of this family-run farm, came out to greet us and spent some time engaging in conversation with our group. He shared a few farm jokes and poems, taught us more about the cows, and was happy to join in for a photo opportunity with Tiffany, Mike, and Ray. A great day was had by all!

Individuals in our CBDES program participate in many enriching, community-based activities weekly. It is through these experiences and repeat visits to places like The Friendly Farm that they are given opportunities to build meaningful community connections, which is at the heart of what we do every day in the CBDES program.
