Marlynne Powell is an accomplished Grants and Non-Profit Development Consultant. She has earned a Master’s in Urban Planning (M.U.P.) from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California, Davis.
She has spent nearly fifteen years of her career working for various non-profit agencies and major universities in the development of programs, management of fundraising for these programs, as well as researching and writing corporate, private foundation, and federal grant proposals with success.
Marlynne has worked for several social services and education-related organizations nationwide. Successful grant writing programs funded include: child care education, educational inclusion programs for children with special needs, healthcare resources for underserved populations, domestic violence and child abuse education and prevention, senior services and adult day services for Alzheimer’s patients, and homelessness services, to name a few.
Prior to joining The Arc of Opportunity, Marlynne served as the Development Director for a national organization established to fund research for the rare lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
