Laura McCarriston, MS, BCBA

Laura joined The Arc of Opportunity in September 2019 as the Vice President of Quality Assurance. In this role, she is responsible for nursing and clinical services, quality management systems, and electronic health records. Prior to joining The Arc team, Laura was the Clinical Director for LifeLinks, Inc. She has over twenty-five years of experience in the management and administration of community-based programs for persons with developmental disabilities in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Laura earned a master’s degree in Human Services Administration from Springfield College in 1999. After many years as a Director of Programs, she decided to direct her focus more on clinical service delivery. She received a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Her areas of clinical interest include functional communication training, naturalistic teaching, and positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS). In addition, her years of administrative experience include the application of organizational behavior management, a sub-discipline of ABA, to improve quality outcomes for individuals, programs, and organizations.

Laura is also a surveyor for CARF, the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities and guest lecturer for the Consultation, Collaboration and Community Partnerships course at William James College.

Laura resides in southern New Hampshire with her husband. She is an avid gardener, voracious reader, and aspiring children’s book author.
