Residential Supports

The Arc of Opportunity is an industry leader in establishing residential and other home supports since the early 1970s when state support was not in existence.  The agency is a mission based, family founded agency.  Our Home Supports exist to help individuals and their families to have opportunities for true meaningful community participation.

The Arc of Opportunity provides Residential Services, Individualized In-Home Supports, Adult Foster Care, Shared Living (Placement), and Shared Homes (Money Follows the Person).  We also provide several ancillary services which support people at home:  DESE/DDS (for children), Agency With Choice (adults), and Adult Companion (various agencies).  Programs operate primarily in Central Massachusetts with some services in an expanded regional area.  The agency serves people who have brain injury, physical, intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, people with multiple disabilities, and seniors.   Our Home Supports are provided in residential sites, private apartments, family homes, and caregiver homes.

The people served by Home Supports range from individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities to individuals with challenging physical, medical, and behavioral issues.  We coordinate our services with other community support providers.  We are open to referrals with basic to the most rigorous need level.  Home Supports encourages self-direction, customer choice & control, and consumer management of services.
