Every first Tuesday of the month since May The Arc of Opportunity has been partnering with local restaurants to hold fundraisers called Dine With The Arc events. A Dine With The Arc event is a fantastic way for local restaurants to promote their business and get lots of free advertising while helping us raise money for our Recreation program.
This program works by a local restaurant agreeing to host the event and donate back a percentage of each check to The Arc when a special coupon for that night is presented to the server. We bring extra business to the restaurant by widely advertising for the event and distributing coupons to event attendees so they can easily keep track of who was brought in by The Arc.
Dine With The Arc fundraisers are very important because the Recreation program receives no state or federal funding and depends entirely on fundraising for operation. The Arc’s Recreation program offers leisure and social activities, which play an important role in the emotional and social development of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Not only do these events help raise money but they raise awareness and make new connections and new friends in our local community for The Arc. Our event attendees help others learn about us and what we do here, show our presence in the community and support us while having a great night out. It’s a win/win for everybody, great food, old friends, new friends and lots of fun and social time while supporting our Recreation program and giving extra business to our local partner restaurants.
