The Arc of Opportunity works with many local companies in the North Central area, providing quality assembly and production fulfillment services. We have a dynamic sales and marketing team but with Tackle Solutions LLC, the sales pitch wasn’t needed. Kevin Lord, owner of Tackle Solution LLC, is a lifelong avid saltwater fisherman and mechanical engineer by trade. Kevin began with a hobby of trying to create a tackle box that worked for holding dozens of lures, fishing line, and all of the supplies necessary for the avid fisherman. Kevin is a regular contributor to local fishing publications and has performed multiple seminars at the New England Saltwater Fishing Show in Providence, RI.
As this hobby became a business, it became very difficult for Kevin to do all of the designing, sales and marketing, and manufacturing of these totes. He also maintains a full time job as a mechanical engineer and there simply wasn’t enough time. Working on Main Street in Fitchburg, Kevin often walked by The Arc of Opportunity and saw the work performed through the windows. Kevin called us to inquire about the possibly of partnering in this exciting opportunity.
The production of Tackle Totes was no easy task. This required The Arc to purchase drills, rivet guns and air compressors. It required precise measurements and training for both the individuals and supervisors. What wasn’t difficult, was finding workers who wanted to start producing the totes. The excitement of learning how to properly use the power tools and to see a product from start to finish was infectious. The supervisors were always brainstorming easier ways to drill the holes, and how the individuals could work as a team. The excitement seeing a hundred finished totes was amazing.
Even more amazing is Kevin Lord’s commitment to The Arc of Opportunity. He frequently visits The Arc for training, problem solving, and making time in his day to ensure we have all the proper tools and production is running smooth. Kevin’s goal of course, is to have success in his Tackle business. But even more evident, is his commitment to The Arc of Opportunity.
