Tiffany, a participant in The Arc’s Adult Family Care program, is a dynamic and energetic young woman. Like most young women her age, she enjoys watching movies, going shopping, and spending time with friends. During the school year, she works in the dietary department of a local elementary school. She says that she particularly enjoys interacting with the children. In the summer, she works at a local grocery store in a customer service position where her bubbly personality endears her to the customers.
Tiffany enjoys participating in sports, especially swimming. It is her goal to become a swimming coach in the future. Tiffany competed in the recent Special Olympics as a swimmer and placed second in one event and third in two events. Another sport that Tiffany enjoys is basketball. She also loves watching the New England Patriots.
Tiffany has also been working on her cooking skills. According to her mother, Tiffany has become increasingly more skilled in the kitchen. Her favorite thing to bake is peanut butter cookies for her brothers.
Advocacy is also very important to Tiffany. She currently serves on the SAAC Advisory Board. In addition, Tiffany has given presentations and attended events supporting the needs of the intellectually and developmentally disabled.
