Fundraising is ‘a-foot’ in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG — Arc Community Services is continuing its $5 million fundraising program foot-by-foot and has a new partner in HH Gagnon Housing, which is willing to donate up to $125,000 in matching grants.

Arc is running a fundraiser called Renovate a Square, in which donors pay $150 to fix-up a square foot of the building at 564 Main St.

HH Gagnon is volunteering to match one square for every two squares that others donate.

The HH Gagnon challenge grant is designed to motivate donors to show financial support for the project, said President and CEO Douglas Nadeau.

“Instead of giving them an outright donation we wanted to parlay it to get the community involved,” he said.
