Include DDS and MassHealth as Ways and Means Budget Priorities

The Needs

Community services touch the lives of more than 38,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Individuals and families primarily rely on the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and MassHealth long-term services. Other agencies provide services for those with I/DD, including the Department of Public Health (DPH), whose services include Early Intervention; the Mass. Rehabilitation Commission (MRC); and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), which provides services via a circuit breaker account.
