FITCHBURG — Mary Heafy, president and CEO of Arc Community Services, announced Feb. 11 that the organization has retained McKenzie Engineering Co. Inc. to conduct a comprehensive assessment of Arc’s facility at 564 Main St.
The scheduled work will provide professional design services for an extensive facility renovation project, which balances feasibility, cost and scheduling requirements.
McKenzie Engineering is a full-service design and engineering firm based in Leominster. Peter M. Reynolds, president of McKenzie Engineering, is a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, and is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and New Jersey.
He has 35 years of design experience and his clientele is broad-based, including members from both the commercial and residential community, and the trades. Together with his staff of design professionals, McKenzie is looking forward to “working with the good people at Arc Community Services on this very important project.”
Arc Community Services has raised $3.3 million toward the project and is actively seeking the final $1 million needed to complete the project through grants and donations.
“Finishing this project is a top priority for the organization so that we can continue to provide vital services to people of all ages with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families,” Heafy said. “I am confident McKenzie Engineering is the best firm to help us bring the project to a successful finish.”
